Biography

Wenmo Qiu is a MEng student currently working at Trailab. Her current research focuses on Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and her current project involves dynamics, control and optimization in robotics. She received her bachelor of mechanical engineering degree in 2017 from McGill University. During her undergraduate studies, she worked in "CIM-Center of Intelligent Machines Lab" and her job involved mechanical part designing and NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) controls. Besides her lab work, she worked as a combustion chamber design engineer and controls engineer at Rolls-Royce as well as few other automation companies. Her work as a controls engineer sparked her interests in autonomous driving and robotics, especially in 3D point-clouds, optimization, localization, and mapping.
