Biography
Katherine Arnold is a Machine Vision Engineer and PhD student in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Toronto, working in the TRAIL Lab under Prof. Steven Waslander. Her research focuses on vision and image processing, with an emphasis on aerial systems for wildfire imaging, mapping, and prediction. In parallel, she leads machine vision development at Siemens Canada, designing real-time inspection and data streaming systems for manufacturing applications. She has also contributed to autonomous sensing and machine vision development for Canadarm3 at MDA Space. She holds a BASc in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Computer Science, and an MASc in Systems Design Engineering with a specialization in Vision and Image Processing, both from the University of Waterloo, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
